SINDRI: The student-teacher relation came under scanner once again when girl students of a reputable school of the town accused a teacher of misbehaving with them allegedly in inebriated condition.
The school administration, following the complaints from the guardians, has made the teacher to resign.
According to a parent, students of Classes VIII to XII had organized a picnic on the school campus on Saturday.

English teacher Atanu Bhattacharya along with sports teacher Sanjiv Singh were also present.
“Bhattacharya made some comments and caught the hand of a Class VIII student and asked her whether she would marry him. This created panic among the girls who called up their parents,” the parent not willing to be named said.
The parents immediately reached the school and found the teachers allegedly in inebriated condition and demanded immediate action against them for misbehaving with the girls.
Under pressure, school principal S K Samuel asked the teacher to resign immediately. The guardians also demanded that the school administration punish “the
sports teacher too but the authorities have not taken any action against him so far,” the parent said.
The matter took a political turn when nearly 50 youths from different organizations took out a rally in town on Sunday morning demanding to book both the teachers for their “shameful act” and alleged that the school administration was shielding the other teacher equally responsible for the guilt.
The teachers however have refuted the allegations saying nothing of that sort happened.
“The girl is like my daughter and I have been framed in the matter,” said Bhattacharya adding that he was in the teaching profession for the past 15 years and had taught senior girls but no one ever accused him of misbehavior. Sports teacher Sanjiv Singh, too, pleaded innocence.
